Man Arrested After Sexually Assaulting Patient

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.-  For the second time in less than a month, a Salvadoran folk doctor living in Nashville has been arrested for a sex crime.

Police said the victim went to see 60-year-old Jose Ernnis Hernandez in August 2010 for treatment of stomach pain and fertility issues. The victim told police that Hernandez told her to undress and touched her in an unwanted fashion.

The case follows the April arrest of Jose Orellana, who's also accused of sexually assaulted a woman in his care. The woman accusing Hernadez says she got the courage to come forward after seeing media coverage of the Orellana.

When police arrested Hernandez at his Murfreesboro Pike home they found revealed large quantities of apparent herbal medication, ledgers with names and dollar amounts, books on massage therapy, business cards and a video surveillance system.

Detectives ask that any other citizen who may have been sexually assaulted or inappropriately touched by Hernandez to contact the police department's Sex Crimes Unit at 862-7540.
