NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A garbage truck overturned on Spence Lane Monday morning, blocking the road and damaging a utility pole.
The accident happened around 5:40 a.m. just north of Lebanon Pike. The driver told police he swerved to avoid a car coming out of a business, causing him to hit a fire hydrant and then a utility pole.
Sky 5 HD showed the truck on its side with garbage spread over the road.
Live wires were also down on the road and there was a non-hazardous spill. NES crews and a tow truck were on the scene just before 7 a.m. to help clear the crash.
The driver suffered minor injuries, but was not taken to the hospital.
