MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A 16-year-old girl was rescued from her burning apartment in Murfreesboro on Monday night.
Fire crews reported heavy smoke and flames when they arrived at the Northfield Lodge Apartments. Firefighters used a ladder to rescue the girl from a second story window.
She was taken to Middle Tennessee Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
After her rescue, crews entered the stairwell and extinguished the fire.
Residents in seven of the eight units in building F were displaced, and the Red Cross was assisting.
The Fire Marshal will determine the cause of the fire.
