SMITHVILLE, Tenn. - A Smithville woman has been charged with passing $140 in counterfeit bills buying drinks at a local bar.
Police said she picked up the tab for a big party with seven $20 bills. The bar staff called police when they took a closer look at the bills passed by the customer.
They were clearly not real, and looked like they were made on a copy machine.
The suspect told police she was given the money when she cashed a check at a local bank.
The woman, who was not identified, was booked into the DeKalb County jail.
