MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Murfreesboro police arrested three juveniles who were caught driving a stolen golf cart down a busy road.
Police said they spotted the golf cart driving recklessly in traffic on North Middle Tennessee Boulevard.
Police believe the golf cart was stolen from a local school.
The three juveniles, ages 15, 14 and 12, will likely face burglary and criminal impersonation charges. Police said they gave false names when they were arrested.
The crackdown on golf carts being ridden on roadways comes after a teen was killed, and three others were injured, after crashing a golf cart in a Franklin neighborhood.
State law prohibits golf carts on city streets.
