Former Pastor Convicted Of Sexual Battery

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A former pastor at a local church is now a convicted sex offender.

On Tuesday, a Nashville jury convicted a former pastor John Vine of aggravated sexual battery. Vine was pastoring at the Faith United Church in North Nashville at the time he assaulted a 12 year old girl whose family he had befriended.

During the trial the victim took the stand and accused Vine of putting his hand in her pants.

A jury convicted him of aggravated sexual battery, which carries a maximum sentence of 6 years. He will be sentenced on June 27, 2012.
