MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A woman told police she was drugged, raped, and left in a parking lot. Now, investigators wonder if it could be the work of a serial rapist.
The 31-year-old woman told Murfreesboro police she was drugged and then sexually assaulted by an acquaintance. She said she met the man in a local restaurant in the city.
During the course of the evening they shared a few drinks, and then the next thing the victim knows she wakes up in the parking area and doesn't remember a thing.
That's when she discovered she had been sexually assaulted.
The latest incident is of special concern since there have been at least three similar reports in Murfreesboro over the past six months.
In each case, women reported they were drugged while sharing a drink with a man they just met.
No arrests have been made.
Police were comparing descriptions, but they don't know if the same man is responsible.
