Fisherman Saves Five From Sinking Boat On Old Hickory

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - A fisherman helped save five people from their sinking boat on Old Hickory Lake over the weekend.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said five people were on a boat near Old Hickory Beach in Hendersonville late Saturday when it hit a navigation buoy and started sinking.

A nearby fisherman heard their calls for help, and got them to shore.

The fisherman then went back for the sunken boat to keep it from becoming a hazard to others.

Wildlife officials were still investigating how the accident happened.
