NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police said a man was critically injured in a stabbing in Centennial Park on Monday night. 

It happened just before 5 p.m. in the park near 28th Avenue and Poston Street.  Police said that two homeless men got into a fight over some food. One of the men stabbed the other in the chest. 

The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Police said the victim was in critical but stable condition. His name has not been released. 

The stabbing suspect was taken into custody at the scene by Metro Parks Police. Officers said he will be charged with aggravated assault. His name was not released.
