NEWPORT, Tenn. (AP) - Cocke County Sheriff Armando Fontes said the deaths of three people -- one of them a child -- were homicides.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reported Fontes said on Tuesday that police were seeking a man and a woman as persons of interest. On Sunday, authorities found the burned bodies of two adults in a mobile home that burned Saturday night. On Monday, the remains of a young child were located in the ashes.
Fontes did not release the names of the victims on Tuesday, but said authorities believe they were a couple and their young son who lived in the trailer.
The people authorities are seeking both have criminal histories and the man was released from prison last year.
