NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Police have indicted a convicted rapist for the 2011 murder of a North Nashville woman.
Police said that 47-year-old Gwendolyn Williams' body was discovered an abandoned home near Downtown Nashville in February 2011. While there were no visible signs of trauma to her body, detectives were able to use DNA evidence to link the crime to 50-year-old John B. Flye.
Flye had previously been convicted of aggravated rape for an assault against a young girl in 1981. He served 20 years in prison before murdering Williams. He was indicted Tuesday on charge of second-degree murder after making incriminating statements during an interview.
Flye was jailed in lieu of $200,000 bond.
