Posted: Updated:

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - State tourism officials are urging people fascinated by the Hatfield-McCoy feud to come to Kentucky and visit the sites of the bloody conflict.

The History Channel is airing a miniseries that could renew interest in the nation's most famous feud involving the two families who lived along the Tug Fork of the Big Sandy River.

The feud claimed a dozen members of the two families between 1880 and 1891.

Over the years, the feud has been the subject of several film portrayals. The History Channel miniseries started airing on Monday and runs through Wednesday at 8 p.m. CDT.
