Three Young Children Hurt In Crash With Teen Driver

DICKSON, Tenn. – Three young children were seriously injured after a crash in Dickson County.

The wreck happened just before 6 p.m. at Slaydon Marion Road and State Highway 49. Tennessee Highway Patrol officers said that a car being driven by a 17-year-old female drove off the road and hit a tree. 

According to officers there were five people in the car at the time of the crash, including a 15-year-old, 12-year-old, 9-year-old and 7-year-old. None of the occupants were wearing seatbelts. 

The 15-year-old, 9-year-old and 7-year-old were all taken by emergency medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Their conditions have not been released. The 17-year-old driver was taken by ambulance to Horizon Medical center. 

The driver was cited for seat belt violation, failure to use child restraint device and a driver license violation.

 

 

 

Officials said that they were multiple injuries reported.

Tennessee Highway Patrol officers on scene said that one car ran off the road. There were five people in the car at the time of the crash and the three children inside were taken by emergency medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
