Man Shot During Altercation Over Gift Card

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was shot in the hand after he told police he was trying to purchase a gift card overnight in north Nashville.

The victim told police said he was walking down the street near his home on Clay Street and 14th Avenue, when he was approached by a woman to buy gift cards. That's when they got into an altercation about the transaction.

Later, she met him at his home with another man. Police said that man opened fire, striking the victim in the hand.

He then ran to the 1900 block of D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard, where he was able to find officers. He was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have not made any arrests. They said the pair fled in a maroon and silver-colored Dodge Charger.
