Predators' Goalie Rinne Could Be Video Game Cover Star

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne is certainly a fan favorite in Nashville, but his popularity in the NHL is growing as a finalist to be on the cover of the EA Sports video game "NHL13."

EA Sports started a 60-player bracket contest online for fans to vote for the next cover star of their video game. After a month of voting, it's down to Rinne and Philadelphia Flyers center Claude Giroux.

The team was eliminated in the playoffs last month, but since then the team has embarked on an aggressive online campaign to get fans to vote online. Voting continues at covervote.nhl.com through Monday and the winner will be announced at the NHL awards show on June 20.
