NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The American Red Cross is offering baby-sitting training in the greater Nashville area through mid-August.
The $85 course is designed to give 11 to 15-year-olds the skills and confidence to care for children and infants, plus ways to help them get started in their own baby-sitting business.
The course takes prospective young sitters from feeding and diapering and play time to bedtime routines. Participants also are trained in handling emergencies such as injuries, illnesses and household accidents.
The one-day, daylong course is on selected Saturdays.
