HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A police officer was assaulted during a huge street fight in Hopkinsville over the weekend.

Police said more than 100 people were involved in a brawl outside a bar on South Main Street.

Five people were taken into custody, including one that was charged with assaulting an officer. Some drugs were confiscated at the scene.

Police said it took some time for them to break up the fight.

It was unclear what started the fight, but police expect there to be more arrests as they identify others who were involved.

No one was seriously injured.
