Officer Injured In Motorcycle Crash In Hendersonville

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - A Hendersonville motorcycle officer was seriously in juried in a crash.

Officials said the wreck occurred around 6:30 p.m. at Main Street and New Shackle Road. One lane of traffic was closed while police investigated the scene.

Police said 30 year-old officer Jonathan Leckner of Gallatin was on duty on his motorcycle when a pick-up truck turned in front of him causing him to crash.

Officer Leckner was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was said to have sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries. 

The driver of the pick-up truck was identified as 53-year-old Eddie Alane McNeese. He was charged with DUI.

A spokesperson for the Tennessee Highway Patrol said that McNeese admitted to taking prescription pills. McNeese was arrested and taken to the Sumner County Jail.
