Walk Of Fame Induction Kicks Off CMA Music Festival
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The CMA Music Festival is just two days away, and fans from around the world have already started to descend on Music City.
The festivities kick off Tuesday with the induction of two music legends into the Music City Walk of Fame. Bassist Bob Babbitt will join Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Steve Winwood for the induction ceremony.
Babbitt is most famous for his work as a member of Motown Records' studio band, the Funk Brothers.
That group is considered one of the most successful groups of studio musicians in music history.
The unveiling of the stars will take place today at 12:30 p.m. at the Walk of Fame Park.
Meanwhile, the stage on lower Broadway is just one of many going up in the next day. Extra officers will be working overtime in shifts during peak hours from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Some of the events also scheduled for Tuesday include The Tug McGraw Foundation Inaugural Celebrity Sporting Clay Shootout, The Carrie Underwood Fan Club Party, Country Beach Party, and the Opry Plaza Party.
The CMT Music Awards will be Wednesday night at Bridgestone Arena. It will start at 7 p.m. and be hosted by Toby Keith and Kristen Bell.
