NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police said two gunmen opened fire on a couple outside their Donelson townhome early Wednesday morning, hitting the man twice.
Around 1 a.m., police said the couple was getting out of their car at the Terrace Park Townhomes on Elm Hill Pike when two men with their faces covered by a t-shirt started shooting.
The victims reported hearing four to six shots.
The male victim, who was hit twice, was taken to the Vanderbilt Medical Center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The woman was not hit.
"They fled on foot. If they had a vehicle nearby is still under investigation," said Metro Police Captain Preston Brandimore.
The gunmen remain at large, but police said they have identified a person of interest.
Police were working with the victims to determine a motive for the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
