NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Highway Patrol has five new canines, and their handlers, in the force.

They just completed more than 400 hours of training, including building and open area search and tracking, pursuit, engagement and apprehension.

Four of the canines were previously trained as drug dogs.

On May 25, 44 new troopers graduated from training and are now doing 12 weeks of field instruction.
