NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have arrested a man in the robbery and shooting of a manager at the Dollar General in Antioch.

Akeem Forman, 22, was arrested Thursday night and charged with especially aggravated robbery.

An affidavit stated he entered the store on Bell Road on Monday afternoon with a .22 caliber rifle, approached the manager, and demanded money. He then fired two shots into the floor of the business before receiving money from the register.

Police said the suspect took the manager, identified as 27-year old Christina Sims, and another employee into the office area and demanded money from the safe.

Police said Forman told Sims to "hurry up or I am going to shoot you". She allegedly told him that he wouldn't, and he then shot her in the calf.

The two employees shut him out of the office and called police.

Sims was taken to Southern Hills Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said Forman fled in a silver Nissan Murano with approximately $700.

Forman allegedly admitted to police to robbing a Subway in Smyrna and the Dollar General store in Manchester. Police also discovered items taken from the robberies inside his residence. One of the employees identified him from a photo lineup.

Police said they had learned he had used three different addresses, one in Nashville and two in La Vergne. Officers with Metro Police and La Vergne Police went to the addresses around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, and he was arrested without incident at an apartment on Cane Ridge Road.

He was booked on a $75,000 bond, and is scheduled to be in court on June 13.
