NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Bonnaroo and CMA Music Festival brought thousands of guests to town, but many of them are heading home Monday.
Nashville International Airport officials said they expected Monday to be the busiest travel day of the year, with nearly 20,000 people estimated to fly out.
During the peak Thanksgiving travel day, the airport had an estimated 15,000 boarding passengers.
With increased staff, airport officials said the estimated wait in the security line was 10 minutes.
Passengers took notice.
"It wasn't too bad actually. We had to get up early. It was a late night," said one passenger.
Airport officials said they have prepared for the busy travel day by increasing staff and extending store and restaurant hours.
Last year, a little more than 19,000 passengers traveled through BNA after Nashville's big music weekend.
