MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis police are investigating a fight on Beale Street that left four officers injured.
The Commercial Appeal reported the officers were clearing the entertainment district around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday when the younger of two brothers refused to leave and struck an officer in the face several times.
As other officers moved in to detain the man, police say his older brother charged them from behind. According to a police report, one of the men tried to grab an officer's gun.
The men have been identified as 21-year-old Mario Bills and 34-year-old Myrus Williams. Each has been charged with assault causing bodily harm. Bills was also charged with aggravated assault.
Two officers were treated for non-critical injuries, and two received medical attention at the scene.
