WASHINGTON (AP) - The White House said there is no timetable for Commerce Secretary John Bryson's return from medical leave.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said President Barack Obama spoke with Bryson briefly Tuesday. He says the president encouraged Bryson to focus on his health and his family.
The president also indicated his confidence that Deputy Secretary Rebecca Blank could lead the department in Bryson's absence.
Bryson is taking medical leave after suffering a seizure connected to traffic accidents in California over the weekend.
