NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A total of five charter school groups have now appealed the Metro School board's rejection of their applications.

KIPP Academy and Great Hearts Academies already filed their appeals and now, Purpose Prep Academy, Excel Academy, and Genesis Transitions have also joined the group.

Any charter applicants turned down by the board had until Wednesday to file their appeal. The school board will meet again June 26 to vote on charter application appeals.
