Posted: Updated:

DEKALB COUNTY, Tenn. – The DeKalb County courthouse has reopened after being closed most of the morning due to a bomb threat.

The threat came in just before 11 a.m. Thursday at the building on Congress Boulevard in Smithville.

The threat was called into the courthouse, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities and bomb-sniffing dogs searched the building and did not find any suspicious items. Police said they are still following leads on who might have called in the threat.

The building was reopened around 2 p.m.
