Mayor Announces Multi-Million Dollar Library Renovation

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Nashville Mayor Karl Dean announced a plan to help children expand their imaginations with a multi-million dollar library renovation.

Mayor Dean toured the Bellevue branch of the Nashville Public Library system Thursday afternoon.

In his 2012 - 2013 capital spending plan, the Mayor is calling for $9.5 million to renovate the cramped, outdated building.

Currently, the library lacks space for community programs like story time and doesn't have enough computers for public use.

The new facility is planned to be nearly five times the size of the existing library.
