NASHVILLE, Tenn. - With Father's Day just around the corner, one local man is pleading for information that will lead to the person who robbed and murdered his only son.
Geoffrey Harbison's son, Steffano Griffin, was shot and killed during a robbery nearly six months ago. Griffin's birthday would have been Sunday on Father's Day.
"27 years ago she had him on June 17, Father's Day. And just with the fact that it's rolling around again you know six months after his death it's very disturbing," said Harbison.
Two men pulled a gun on Steffano as he walked his fiancé's two year old grandchild down a sidewalk on University Court.
"He was taking his pants off, because that's what they requested, and before he could get the pants off they shot him three times. They shot him down like a dog," explained Harbison.
Steffano's father remains devastated by his son's death. He is pleading for witnesses who have been afraid to come forward to help police charge the men responsible.
Metro Police believe the men responsible are already in jail, but they need more proof to charge them with Steffano's murder.
"We believe they could be detained on unrelated charges and now would be a good time to come forward," said Metro Police Lieutenant John Drake.
Police believe there are witnesses who haven't come forward because they're afraid. Griffin's father said that's ridiculous
"Please have some compassion. This ain't snitching. This is reclaiming your neighborhood so your grandson, your son, your father, your brother won't be lying on the sidewalk with his clothes stripped off like our son," said Harbison.
Anyone with information about the crime was urged to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
