Thief Rings Up Personal Discount With Fake Barcodes

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.- An innovative thief set his sights on a local store by making his own barcode sticker

Murfreesboro police said the man put his own, altered barcode sticker on a nearly $400 item at a Target store there. He then took the item to the register and scanned it and it rang up for just $49.

Police think he's used the same scam at Target stores in Georgia and North Carolina.
