Rapist Sentenced To 53 Years In Prison

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A Nashville court ordered a man convicted of rape and criminal exposure to HIV to serve 53 years in prison.

The Davidson County Criminal Court jury sentenced 33-year old Tarrants Chandler on Thursday. Chandler was convicted of 9 counts of rape and one count of criminal exposure to HIV.

One of Chandler's victims, a 16-year old girl, testified during the trial that the sexual abuse began when she was just thirteen.

Chandler must serve 100 percent of the first 40 years of his sentence.
