CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested after allegedly firing a shot into the air as officers surrounded his home overnight.

Clarksville Police said they received a call around 1 a.m. Friday from 28-year-old Jonathan Lamon who said he was suicidal and told 911 operators that he had several loaded guns inside a home on E. Street.

Officers arrived to hear things being broken inside the house. Lamon was still on the phone with operators, who told him officers had arrived. He then allegedly turned off the porch and living room lights, went outside and fired a rifle into the air.

It was too dark to see Lamon, who went back inside and put the gun away. He was arrested without incident when he came back outside.

Police recovered a spent shell casing near where Lamon had been standing on the porch.

Lamon was charged with aggravated assault. He was held on $5,000 bond at the Montgomery County jail.
