Funeral Services Held for Widow of Former Sheriff

GALLATIN, Tenn.- Funeral services were held Sunday for Connie Barker, the wife of the late Sumner County Sheriff Bob Barker.

Mrs. Barker died Thursday after a long battle with cancer. Both Connie and her husband were well-known volunteers and advocates for the Sumner County area. Bob Barker also died from cancer in 2010. Last year, Sumner County's new animal shelter opened, and now bears both their names.

Visitation was Saturday evening at the Family Heritage Funeral Home on Albert Gallatin Avenue. The funeral service was Sunday at 2:00.
