Community Rallies Behind Train Accident Victim

DICKSON, Tenn.- A Dickson County community continues to support a teenager still fighting for his life after being hit by a train. Drew Smithson, 18, remains at Vanderbilt Medical Center, but has been upgraded to stable condition.

Smithson was driving his truck across railroad tracks at White Bluff Road near Highway 70 last Wednesday when he was struck by a CSX train and dragged down the tracks.

A benefit softball tournament was held Saturday night at Tennsco Field in Dickson. All the money raised at that event will help Smithson and his family.
