Driver Service Center Closed for Renovation

COOKEVILLE, Tenn.- Residents in Putnam County will have to rely on their neighbors for Driving Center Services the next couple of days.

The Driver Service Center on South Jefferson Ave. in Cookeville will be closed Monday and Tuesday for renovations. Until it reopens on Wednesday, customers can visit surrounding counties for driving tests and new driver licenses.

The County Clerk will also issue license duplicates and renewals.

The official Grand Opening will be held Monday morning for the new Music City Center. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will kick off at 9:00 a.m., then Mayor Karl Dean will give his State of Metro address.

The shooting happened Sunday evening at a basketball court on Sam Ridley Parkway. According to police, the victim and others were driving away after the fight when a car pulled up next to them and shot into the car.more>>

New information was released late Sunday evening about a deadly weekend crash in Sumner County. The crash on Hartsville Pike near Kemp Road, just outside Gallatin killed two people.
