MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A suspect has been arrested for allegedly assaulting an officer in Murfreesboro.
The officer had responded late Monday night to a domestic call at a home on Gardendale Road. When the officer arrived, a man allegedly attacked him and punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground.
The attacker then took off on foot. Back-up officers arrived with a K-9 unit, and the dog quickly tracked the suspect down hiding in the neighborhood.
The K-9 brought the man down and held him for police, who took him into custody.
The officer was treated at the hospital for a separated shoulder.
The suspect was booked on an aggravated assault charge. No names were released.
