Report: TVA Completes Series Of Corrective Actions
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Valley Authority has taken steps to ensure transparency at the agency and that its records are accurate.
An investigation by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission found two subcontractor employees deliberately falsified documents related to work on the Watts Bar Unit 2 construction project in 2010.
The Tennessee Valley Authority agreed to a series of corrective actions, and the commission said Tuesday that those actions have been fulfilled.
They included an internal review of the incident, procedural revisions, and the implementation of training and fleet-wide communications related to the importance of following the commission's regulations.
The former employees were prosecuted by the Department of Justice.
According to a report by the TVA inspector general, construction of Unit 2 has had cost overruns of up to $2 billion.
