SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - An American woman who sent her Russian adopted son back to Moscow on a plane is asking a Tennessee judge to set aside an order for her to pay $150,000 in child support.

The Shelbyville Times-Gazette reported that Torry Hansen claimed in court filings the child support would not go to benefit the boy, but would get lost in a bureaucratic system.

In 2010 while living in Tennessee, Hansen sent her then 7-year-old adopted son back to Russia with a letter saying he was violent and she didn't want him anymore. She was sued by her adoption agency for child support to care for the child, who is now living in a group home in a Moscow suburb.

A hearing in the case is scheduled for July 13.
