MAURY COUNT, Tenn. – A major highway in Maury County was shut down Wednesday afternoon after several grass fires were started by a loose trailer.
Maury County Sheriff's Department said five or six small fires were reported along a six mile stretch of Highway 43, south of Industrial Boulevard around 1 p.m. The Hazmat team was alerted after a trailer became detached from a truck, starting the fires.
The fires ranged from 20 to 40 yards along the highway. It was shut down for a brief time.
