CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- Police in Clarksville have arrested the woman who admitted to tricking an 81-year-old man into withdrawing $400 from his bank account.

Police said on Friday, the woman told the man, who was driving in the Marina park area, that she was citing him for a motor vehicle violation as a representative of the Clarksville Police Department. She told him it would cost $600, but she would cut him a break and only charge him $400. She went to the bank with him, where he withdrew $400 and gave it to her.

After surveillance photos from the bank were released, police received several phone calls identifying the woman as 42-year-old Stephanie Robinson. After question by police, Robinson did admit that she tricked the man into taking the money from the bank.

Robinson was booked in the Montgomery County Jail and charged with theft of property and criminal impersonation.
