Mother, Six Children Hurt In Vehicle Crash

COFFEE COUNTY, Tenn.- A mother and her six young children were injured in a wreck in Coffee County.

The crash happened on Prairie Plains Road around 3 p.m. Thursday. Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said that the mother was driving east on Prairie Plains when she traveled off the right side of the road, lost control and overturned.

The six children in the car, all under the age of nine were taken to the hospital. Two of the children were taken by emergency medical helicopter to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. The other children, as well as the mother were taken to Southern Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

It was unclear what caused the woman to drive off the roadway.
