NASHVILLE, Tenn.- More than 50 volunteers came together on Friday to pack 15,000 pounds of food for those in need.
Staffers from United Healthcare teamed up with Second Harvest to sort, pack, and distribute food for the food bank's Mobile Pantry program. The company also handed in a donation of $100,000 to Second Harvest to help feed more than 10,000 people in need.
Not only will the donation help fight hunger, but will also provide folks with healthy meals.
"It's not easy to find healthy food, particularly when you're challenged economically. And so, Second Harvest and United have come together to find ways that we can have healthy options here," said Scott Bowers with United Healthcare.
Also helping pack meals was country duo Steel Magnolia.
