NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The city of Nashville has reached a tentative deal with the Nashville Predators that will lower the amount of taxpayer subsidies to the team.
According to the Nashville Business Journal, the Preds will take in $6.1 in Metro taxpayer money. That's about a million less than their previous deal. They do stand to get more cash in incentives.
Just this year, the state closed a loophole that allowed the Preds to collect sales tax on non-hockey events. That money now goes to the sports authority.
