Truck Crashes Into Joelton Hope Center

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A non-profit in Joelton has been closed for business after a semi-truck slammed through its front doors Sunday.

Just after noon, officials said a parked semi-truck started rolling down a hill and into the Joelton Hope Center store front. The Joelton Hope Center is a thrift store that helps the community with food and clothing needs.

No one was hurt as the store was empty, and the driver wasn't in the truck. Employees said the damage is enough to keep them closed for a while, unless they can find an alternate place to move.

"If not, I'd say it would be at least a good week till we would be back on our feet," explained employee, Denise Martin.

The store had a scheduled food pick-up Monday that will still go on as planned, but they will be closed to the public.
