Local Musicians Come Together For 'Sophie Shines'

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A celebration for a local teen brought out some of Nashville's brightest stars on Monday night.

Amy Grant, husband Vince Gill, and several other artists came together for "Sophie Shines" at 3rd and Lindsley. It was a sold-out benefit concert for 19-year old Sophie Salveson.

In March, Sophie suffered a massive stroke while exercising on a treadmill, leaving her with little to no movement on one side of her body, and major damage to her speech and comprehension.

She has since re-learned how to walk and had her skull rebuilt just days ago.

Proceeds from the event go towards a trust fund for Sophie.

Sophie was a graduate of Hume-Fogg Academic High School.
