NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Nearly 400,000 kids in Tennessee don't know where their next meal is coming from. On Tuesday, there was a little Music City star power to help kick off a program to help make sure some of those kids get the food they need.
Country singer and American Idol finalist Kellie Pickler was there to help out as ConAgra teamed up with Second Harvest Food bank for their third annual Hunger-Free Summer Program.
"A lot of people don't realize this, but so many kids rely on their meals through the school year. They're fed lunch and breakfast at school, you don't really think about it, but in the summer they're not guaranteed breakfast, lunch or any meal," said Pickler.
For every booklet downloaded from ConAgra's Facebook page, they'll donate a free meal to the program, and another meal, if you "share" the booklet.
