MACON, Tenn. - One person was killed and three others injured in a crash in Macon County Wednesday afternoon.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said two vehicles were involved in the crash around 4:00 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 52.
A report from the THP said a Dodge pickup truck crossed the yellow line, causing a Nissan to swerve to avoid a collision. The Dodge then came back into the path of Nissan, and they collided.
The passenger in the Nissan, 21-year-old Johnathen D. Alexander of Bethpage, was killed. The driver of the Nissan, 23-year-old Jennifer Lamb of Lafayette, was injured. The driver and a passenger in the Dodge, identified as 31-year-old David Tuttle and Richard Allen Carter, both of Westmoreland, were injured.
Two people were taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, but it was not clear who those were.
The THP report also stated that Tuttle and Allen were not wearing their seatbelts. Both Alexander and Lamb were wearing their seatbelts.
Tuttle was cited, and criminal charges were pending. Blood tests were requested.
