NASHVILLE,
Tenn.- A new law will soon give residents
convicted of certain crimes a shot at a
new beginning.
Due
to legislation just passed, starting July first some Tennesseans will be able
to get their criminal records expunged. Crimes eligible have to be misdemeanors
or a class E felony like forgery, theft and vandalism. DUI, violent and sexual offenders are not eligible.
Applicants
also need to have paid all fines and court costs before applying.
