J.C. Napier Homes, South Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A carjacking led to a fatal shooting in South
Nashville Saturday afternoon. Now police are looking for the people responsible.
Metro Police were called
to the J.C. Napier Homes in South Nashville just after 2:00 p.m. Police said a
man driving a BMW SUV was approached by three men who held him at gunpoint and
demanded the vehicle. Police say the victim got out of the vehicle, but the
suspects still shot him at least once in the back. The victim didn't live at
the Napier Homes, but police say it appears the carjackers knew who he was.
"We believe they more than
likely knew the target from the initial investigation. As of now it's in the
early stages, so we'll know more later," said Lt. John Drake with Metro Police.
Saturday evening, the
victim's name was not being released. Police discovered the SUV not too far
from the crime scene, but the carjackers have not been located.
