SMYRNA, Tenn.- An emergency response team was called to
Nissan's Smyrna manufacturing plant following a report of an injured employee
Saturday afternoon.
A spokesperson for
Nissan said general production was not running Saturday when the accident
happened. According to Nissan, details are still being gathered, but a Nissan supplier employee working for
Enprotech was seriously injured while repairing a piece of heavy equipment.
Vandy's Lifelight was
called in to rush the worker to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Nissan says,
the worker was treated for a broken leg and is in stable condition. The
employee's identity and condition have not been released, and the incident is under investigation.
Nissan said their thoughts are with everyone affected
especially the injured employee and his family.
